Back, Everyone!
We
are all excited and ready for our new school year to begin,
and we hope that you are, too! I hope that you all had
a very relaxing summer. If you look around our campus,
you will see that many people have been hard at work to
make ASMS a beautiful place to be. Our back portables
have been removed, and a limestone parking lot has been
added for school parking during the week, and park parking
on the weekend. A new fence will be constructed along
the parking lot to ensure the safety of all students.
Maintenance has also been hard at work to improve our
playground and sidewalk drainage. Our dynamic PTA lent
their time and talent to paint and do some renovations
to our library. Our school custodial team worked very
hard to make the school look so wonderful. We hope that
you will stop in to have lunch with your child or volunteer
some of your time in the classroom or in the office.
Please
note that due to increased security, we will be scanning
everyone's driver's license or state ID when you come
to check out a student or to volunteer. Please be sure
to make the office your first stop when you arrive. We
want to do our best to make our campus safe for everyone
here. Upcoming changes will include the installation of
security cameras around the campus.
We
have some exciting plans for your children this year with
academics, technology, Positive Behavior Support, Club
Day and many other things. We think Abita Springs Middle
School will be the place to be to Think, Grow, and Learn.
