Dear Parents and Guardians:

Welcome to the 2009-2010 school year! We hope that you are all ready for what we believe will be the best year ever!! Remember, Meet & Greet will be on August 5th from 6-7:30 . This will be a great time to come out, see your friends, bring your school supplies and meet your new teacher. We are all very excited about seeing you here.

If you are a student who is awaiting LEAP results, you have not been assigned to a teacher yet. These results are set to come in on August 6 th . We will be calling parents as soon as we receive these results to let you know how your child did and who their teacher will be. We are so sorry for the inconvenience; the state is scoring these documents and this is the earliest they can get the results to us.

For bus riders, there is a transportation hotline available beginning on August 2nd from 1-6 PM, and Aug. 3rd-7th from 8:30 AM-8:00 PM. The number is 985.898.3373, and there will be operators there to help answer route and driver questions. Please call the driver directly to find out what time the bus may be arriving each morning and dropping off each afternoon. Information can also be accessed through the parish website, http://stpsb.org .

School begins on Friday, August 7, and remember that our hours of operation are from 7:30 to 2:41. On the first day of school, students will have morning recess in designated areas (4 th grade and 5 th grade on the playground and 6 th grade on the paved areas in the front of the 6 th grade building.) Many duty teachers will be available to assist you. Students may be dropped off beginning no earlier than 7:00 AM, as this is when duty teachers are available. Bus riders will be dropped off in the circle and car riders will be directed to drop off on Main Street. We encourage bus use, as traffic can be very heavy in the morning causing tardies.

We are looking forward to a very fun and successful year. Please keep in contact with your child's teacher through the website, e-mail, phone and in-person conferences. Remember, working together as a team can ensure your child's success. Please stay tuned for opportunities to be involved here. We are all looking forward to working with you.

Sincerely, Donna Forrest and Rhonda Meyers
